On 22 July, the boys took part in the Scarisbrick Hall School Tournament. Drawn in a group of four, they started with a 1-0 victory over Mill Hill from Blackburn, with a goal from Lewis.
After a 0-1 defeat against Marina Sands Lions, the other results left them needing at least a point against MHS Rangers from Huyton - last year's tournament winners. They got the draw to see them through - Lewis on target yet again with a superb equaliser - to see them through to the semi-final and knock the Lions out in the process.
Scarisbrick Stars had won the other group and so the boys faced them in the semi-final. In a tight match, Lewis scored his third goal of the afternoon just after half time. With minutes left, Darren had a great chance from Josh's perfect cross, only for the ball to be bundled away for a corner. The Stars defended it well, went down the other end and equalised. Their tails were up now and they got the winner moments later to knock the stuffing out of the boys.
It was a good performance at the end of a long season in a tournament full of quality teams - the Stars were defeated 2-0 in the final by Marine.
